(February 7, 2023 - Penticton, British Columbia) – 97 South Song Sessions is pleased to announce that Canadian Country Music Hall of Famer, Paul Brandt, will join four of Nashville’s most prominent hit songwriters on stage at the 5th Annual 97 South Song Sessions concerts July 20 to 22, 2023 in Penticton, BC.

Brandt’s 1996 debut RIAA certified Gold album, Calm Before the Storm, went on to sell one million albums internationally, propelled by the #1 single and wedding classic “I Do”. His U.S. #5 and #1 charting songs “My Heart Has A History”, and “I Do” were the first to chart by a male Canadian Country artist on the US Billboard Top 20 since 1976. Brandt also holds 14 CCMA’s, and eight Juno Awards to his credit.

Also joining the stage are: Chart topping Nashville songwriter/recording artist Jamie O’Neal (There is No Arizona, When I Think About Angels, both #1 US Country), With 7, #1 US Country hits, Grammy nominated songwriter, Lee Thomas Miller (You’re Gonna Miss This - Trace Adkins; Whiskey & You - Chris Stapleton), Nashville songwriter, Wendell Mobley, who has written #1 hits for Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Randy Houser (There Goes My Life - Kenny Chesney, Take Me There, Banjo, Fast Cars and Freedom – Rascal Flatts)

The 2023 main stage will be hosted by Grammy winner and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer, Tim Nichols (Live Like You Were Dying -Tim McGraw, She Had Me At Heads Carolina – Cole Swindell)

The 5th Annual 97 South Song Sessions event is an acoustic music performance and storytelling weekend where award-winning, multi-genre songwriters and artists share the stage, entertaining the audience with tales of the creative journey that inspired their hit songs. Single show tickets are $97.00 CAD and the VIP 3 Day Pass is $325.00 CAD. VIP passes include the BBQ Launch Party on Thursday evening, the Main Stage Show “Spotlight on Nashville” on Friday night, a Discovery Series stage on Saturday afternoon and Storyteller Icon, an intimate and interactive live interview and music performance by an iconic songwriter/artist, hosted by media host Paul McGuire.
