97 South Song Sessions Announces 2025 Concert "Hits With Heart" to benefit MusiCounts
December 16, 2024, Penticton, British Columbia - 97 South is pleased to announce the 6th season of the 97 South Song Sessions (97SouthSongSessions.com) entitled "Hits With Heart," slated for April 12, 2025, at O'Rourke Family Estate, an unprecedented new entertainment facility in Lake Country, British Columbia. More than just a concert, 97 South Song Sessions is an intimate, bluebird cafe-styled show that brings together four hit songwriters in the round to acoustically perform their hits and share the stories behind the song in the setting of British Columbia’s picturesque interior.
In past seasons the show, which will be hosted once again by Stingray media personality Paul McGuire, 97 South Song Sessions, has welcomed artists and songwriters from the Rock, Pop, and Country genres, such as Rik Emmet, Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow), Kim Mitchell, Grammy winner Tim Nichols, Alan Frew, Marc Jordan, and many more.
In its new iteration, 97 South, produced by ole founder and CEO, Robert Ott and his wife Robin Ott, partners with MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS/The JUNO Awards, to focus on a philanthropic mission with its acclaimed shows.
Says 97 South's Robert Ott, "Since inception, 97 South Song Sessions has been about building community around the art and craft of songwriting and storytelling. To extend this mission to giving back to music education and the foundations of our music community is very gratifying."
“MusiCounts is honoured to partner with 97 South and the O’Rourke Family Estate to ensure that future generations of musicians and songwriters have the chance to get their start,” said Kristy Fletcher, President of MusiCounts. “The proceeds from this special event will support the MusiCounts School Music Funding Programs, which grant under-served schools up to $20,000 to buy instruments, equipment, and gear for their music programming.”
O'Rourke Family Estate General Manager Ian Scromeda comments, "O'Rourke Family Estate is proud to host the 97 South Song Sessions and support Canada's music education community through MusiCounts. By fostering creativity and providing opportunities, we aim to inspire and empower the next generation of artists, strengthening the future of music in Canada."
